My name is Leslie Ritenour, a Twin-Cities Theatrical Video Designer.
I began work as a video designer with my first show She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen at the University of Minnesota's Rarig Center under the mentorship of Kathy Maxwell. Through this show, I had no experience in video design but I stepped up to the challenge by quickly learning various programs such as Qlab, Adobe After Effects, Premiere, and Media Encoder, whilst subjected to the demands of college and work. It was during this time that I fell in love with Video Design.
After this experience, the University took me on for another show: Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson. With this show, I got my footing on learning the setup and schematics of projectors themselves.
With each and every show that I work with, whether it is as an assistant, associate, or a full-fledged designer, I am committed to learning something new. Furthermore, I am driven by the inspiration, oo-s and aa-s, and astonishment that my work brings to the audiences. I inspire to be the change and bring forth and expand the capabilities of video design in theatrical environments.
